Director of Civil & Structural Engineering

Brian Lahiff, a Chartered Engineer, completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Safety in Construction from Trinity College Dublin in 2008 with distinction. He has also gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College Dublin in 2010, again with distinction.

Brian is particularly conversant with the current Health & Safety Legislation, including the most recent Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. Brian has acted as project supervisor design process on numerous healthcare, residential, industrial and educational projects of various sizes and complexity.

Brian is responsible for the day to day management of all of our PSDP projects. He has provided numerous training courses to clients and designers on their duties contained in the Safety, Health and Welfare at (Work) Construction. Brain works closely with our clients to ensure their compliance at all times with the Construction Regulations. He presented to the IOSH Healthcare Conference in October 2011 on the subject of “Maintenance Management Systems”.

Brian is a founding member and chairperson of the Irish Safety at Height Association (www.safetyatheight.ie). He was co-author of the Construction Safety Partnership’s (CSP) document “Client Assessment Requirements to make Particular Safety & Health Appointments”.

As a Chartered Engineer, Brian has extensive experience in planning, design, project management, co-ordination and supervision of the construction of a range of projects. He has acted on various types and sizes of projects and specialises in the delivery of phased projects in challenging environments especially in healthcare campuses.

Brian represents the Association of Consulting Engineers (ACEI) in developing the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) within the Irish Construction Industry. He is an active member of the CITA BIM Group and has lectured extensively on the subject.
